Me

Blog post #1:

You:  Tell me about yourself - What are you interested in?  What do you like to do?  What would you like me to know about you?

To start off my name's Sara, I'm 17 years old and I have been dealing with being overweight my whole life. Through the years as my body's been developing and growing I have been trying to lose weight the safest and healthiest way while discovering I'm Celiac.

In September of 2013 I discovered why my body has been unable to lose weight and it was because I'm highly Celiac. My body has been unable to digest anything with Gluten, and many other things that I been having to eliminate. Being Celiac has changed my life not just physically but emotionally and mentally. To be Celiac you have to be able to say no a lot and be able to understand that you can't do things that everyone else does normally. Whenever I go out with someone I have to be careful and they need to understand more that I CAN'T have a burger at Mcdonalds or go to DQ and have a blizzard like them. It hurts a lot that I can't do these things anymore but it makes me feel better so I need to.

A few things about me my likes and interests. I LOVE Celtic music especially Adrian Von Ziegler it helps calm me down (fav song Celtic Tale), I'm addicted to anime, I write poetry, and I love the Sims and harvest moon games. I'm not a fan personally of posting pictures or using social media, I'm more of a liker. I also can get frustrated easily so I need five minutes to myself to calm down and think. I like to lead people and I love to create games.

ce·li·ac dis·ease
noun
  1. a disease in which the small intestine is hypersensitive to gluten, leading to difficulty in digesting food.

Us: Why did you take Get Fit?  What are you hoping to get out of the course?  Do you have any fitness goals?  What can you contribute to the class?

The main reason I took get fit was to get away from the rowdy, rough boys who are in my grade who don't share and make me fee very unfit. I hope to learn many stretches and more about learning to pace and how to pace myself and not push myself to hard. The main goal for me in the course is to become more fit and learn my strengths and weaknesses in each workout. I want to be a leader and motivate people and help them achieve their goals as-well as mine. I will try my best to be at ever class and to participate even when I'm not up to it. I look forward to this class and I hope we get to go bowling and golfing.

MY BODY- LOVING YOUR BODY TYPE

End of the Term

For the end of the term for Get Fit I think well and that I deserve 90 percent because I believe I have made progress in my fitness. For eating well, well that's a work in progress :D ( but yogurt and bananas are my favourite food now) For the whole like running and working out thing that's getting better b/c I can run for maybe if its a good day 10 min but with slow breaks. Every night or most nights I love to play just dance 4 b/c it simple its easy and you can have lots of fun with your family and friends. Ever since I started Get Fit I have been getting louder and more up for talking to people b/c I know now that my body is my body and you gotta flaunt it and work it to gain respect to get people to get to know you and know the true person that is so hidden underneath. I have grown to accept my body and know what it needs to stay healthy and happy. Overall I love my personality, my body and my awesome self more than ever. Stay true be you because your awesome :) That's my motto.

Panorama School of Dance :)

So, for this field trip I enjoyed my self immensely b/c when I was little I danced their so it brought back A LOT of old memories. While I was dancing I forgot about how hard and challenging it was to always stay on Que and remember the dance, well.... I remembered most of it just the turns were hard b/c I would get dizzy and stumble. I quite enjoyed the leaps though but I couldn't get far off the ground.... :P I just pretended I was Neil Armstrong jumping on the moon for the first time LOL moon dancing. The lady who taught us was very nice she went through the steps thoroughly and made sure everyone got it. Overall I had fun, danced, made jokes, laughed and had many old memories come back too me.

Progress so far this semester

My progress so far this year has been great and I'm feeling much better. I have dropped 17 pounds since I found out that I was celiac and had to go on a strict diet and a 40 min workout everyday.

In November I had an idea of taking English online ( b/c I'm good at it) so I could add a PE class for next semester because knowing me I would get lazy and not workout when I got home. Ever since I started losing weight my confidence has been going up and my pants size has been going down. I started in September at a size 24-26 and now i am a 20-22 which makes me feel better when I go to the store. I have also noticed that my bowling is improving b/c of my weight loss and my scores are now all in the 200s or close to it.

On the weekends one of my fav things to do is to play Just dance on the laptop by just putting it at eye level and just going for it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOeebil3eKY  is an awesome person to get high quality just dance videos.

I believe that after all my hard work I deserve 80% or a high B b/c I am really putting effort in to try my best and accomplish my goals of losing 50 pounds by the last day in June.

Fencing with get fit class

When I heard we were going to try fencing I was ecstatic b/c I've never tried it before. Lots of people talk about how fun fencing is and my first thought was, I'm going to be tired after this class and sore by the end of the week. Once we started I got right into it and had a blast and it sure helped me with my bowling on Saturday. (bowled a 236)

I have never tried fencing before or even seen it before my eyes so it was exciting that I was going to see it and try it. Our coach was very nice and she explained everything so it made me less nervous when we started. The first time we tried the fencing swords was awesome but when i got hit i hurt b/c my friend hit me right on the chest where there was no protection.

How I feel about trying new things is first nerves hit me then anxiousness, excitement and lastly joy. I enjoyed letting lose, just going for it and winning. I don't think I would change anything about this experiance I had fun, I learned new things and got to have fun with my friends and class. I do believe I did my best considering when we started with the fencing swords I won almost every round against my opponent and I won the first game where you had to put your hand behind your back and hit your opponent out and try to be last one in the square.

What I learned from this experiance is that my classmates really love to fight with the fencing swords and that I am really good at fencing. When I am older I wouldn't mind continuing fencing because I had a great time but those protection suits are REALLY hot!
